How to invest
Make an informed decision.
If you buy an investment product based on financial advice and a recommendation, you should get a product that meets your needs and is suitable for your particular circumstances. Financial advice will depend on a number of factors such as what product you are looking for, your finances and your short and long-term goals.
If you have any questions about investing in Rathbone funds, and its suitability, a financial adviser can help you make an informed decision.

Execution only (invest without an adviser)
If you would like to invest without using the services of adviser, and you feel that you fully understand the risks involved, you can use an ‘execution only’ company such as Chelsea Financial Services, Hargreaves Lansdown and Elson Associates plc.

Choose a suitable fund
Do you want income, capital growth or a combination of both from your investment? Do you prefer a riskier investment with greater potential for growth, or a less volatile investment with slower, steadier growth?
Decide how much to invest, and when
How much you invest is a very personal decision which must consider a number of things. Do you want a tax-free investment, or will you want fast access to your invested funds? You may favour a riskier approach to investing, but how much can you afford to lose?
Visit our fund pages to access useful reports and help you decide.
Please take a moment to read our guide to finding the information you might require from us at each stage of your investment journey.

What is an Individual Savings Account (ISA)?
An ISA is a 'wrapper' in which you can put different types of investments (components) without having to pay tax on the investment growth or interest produced in the case of the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund. You can hold up to three types of investment within an ISA: stocks and shares (including unit trusts), cash and life insurance.
What is an ISA?
When you invest in our ISA, your money will buy units in one or more of our unit trusts. The monies are then invested in accordance with the fund's investment objectives.
The aim of our ISA (Individual Savings Account) is to generate income and/or capital growth within a tax-efficient environment.
We do not offer a cash or life insurance ISA. To find out information about what types of ISA are available please read the supplementary information document for the appropriate product range and investment: Single Strategy Funds, or Multi-Asset Portfolios. For information on charges please read the key investor information document appropriate to your investment.
Charities, Pensions, ISAs and non-taxpayers can reclaim 20% tax on interest distributions within the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund.
Subscriptions and eligibility
The ISA tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April the following year. In the current tax year 2023/2024 (from 6th April 2023) your allowance remains frozen at £20,000. Please download the appropriate forms and information below.
