Rathbones Unit Trust Management has strengthened its equity research capability with the hire of Keval Thakrar.

Keval will be working alongside co-managers Carl Stick and Alan Dobbie, and equity analyst Kate Pettem on the Rathbone Income Fund, as well as contributing to the broader research function within the funds’ business.

Keval joins from the Kuwait Investment Office, where he worked for six years; the last three of which were as a global equities’ investment analyst. Previous analyst roles have covered fixed income, and cash & securities at HSBC and Bank of America, respectively.

At Rathbones, Keval will support the Rathbones Income Fund through fundamental analysis of investment opportunities and by engaging in quantitative screening for new ideas, whilst monitoring existing holdings. He reports to Alan Dobbie.

Alan Dobbie, co-manager Rathbone Income Fund, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Keval on board, at an interesting juncture for the UK equity income market. We look forward to benefiting from the perspective he has gained over years of varied experience.”
